A selection of exterior cleaning work carried out for homes and estates across Hampshire. Each project includes notes on the surface, the method used and why we chose it.

The camera lets us see along the whole gutter run as we work, which is how the moss build-up in this Lower Wield gutter was found and fully removed. Every section was checked on camera before and after so nothing was left behind.

A side path buried under moss brought back to a clean, safe surface in Chilworth.
Paths beside a house sit in shade for most of the day, which is why this Chilworth path had disappeared under moss. The growth was treated with a specialist softwash product, left to dwell, then rinsed evenly so the surface is clean and safe underfoot again.
Moss, algae and leaf litter lifted from a tarmac driveway in Chilworth.
Tarmac under trees collects moss and leaf litter quickly, and aggressive pressure can scar the surface. This Chilworth driveway was treated with a softwash product to neutralise the growth, then rinsed at controlled pressure so the tarmac was cleaned without being damaged.
Green-stained uPVC fascias and soffits cleaned back to white in Fareham.
uPVC picks up a green algae film on north-facing elevations. In Fareham, cleaning is done with a soft brush, pure water and a gentle cleaning product from ground level, which lifts the staining without scratching the plastic or disturbing the seals around the boards.

Borders and overhanging planting keep a patio damp, so algae takes hold quickly along the edges. In Winchester the slabs were softwashed with a specialist product, left to dwell, then rinsed gently with the planting protected so the stone colour returned without scarring.

Paths are the most common place for a slip, so this Basingstoke path was treated with a specialist product for algae and lichen, left to dwell, then finished with an even rinse to avoid leaving high and low spots across the surface.

Shaded garden areas hold moisture and grow algae fastest. In Andover these slabs were treated with a softwash product, left to dwell so the growth broke down properly, then rinsed evenly, with the joints checked afterwards to make sure nothing had been washed out.
A green, slippery stone patio returned to a safe, even finish in Eastleigh.
Algae on stone is a slip hazard as much as a cosmetic problem. In Eastleigh, the treatment neutralises the growth rather than washing the surface layer off, so the patio stays clear and safe underfoot for far longer than a simple pressure wash would manage.

Natural sandstone is porous and scars easily under a pressure lance. This Romsey patio was softwashed with a dwell time long enough to break down the organic growth, then rinsed gently so the riven texture and the pointing between slabs were left untouched.
Weeds, moss and joint growth cleared from a two car block paved driveway in Alton.
This Alton drive had weed and moss growth running through every joint and a greyed surface from years of build-up. The blocks were swept to lift the growth out, then softwashed with a specialist product so the roots were neutralised rather than cut back.

Cleaning the drive and the frontage together avoids the patchwork look you get when only one area is treated. In Southampton, surrounding planting was rinsed down and protected before any cleaning product was applied, and the whole frontage was finished in a single visit.
A tired herringbone drive brought back to its original colour in Alresford.
Herringbone blocks trap dirt along every joint, so this Alresford drive was pre-treated with a softwash product and worked section by section. No aggressive pressure was used across the surface, which protects the block face and keeps the finish even rather than striped.

The driveway in Winchester was treated with a specialist softwash product to neutralise the algae and moss at the root, then rinsed at controlled pressure so the block edges and jointing stayed intact. The treatment keeps working afterwards, slowing regrowth.
